The Bethlehem Academy Internship Program is a Project-Based internship designed to provide individuals an opportunity to create or develop programs, operational systems, or communication strategies to improve the services we provide to the community. Interns will interact and engage with many of our Staff, Children, Program Coordinators and Senior Directors attend leadership meetings, engage in professional development trainings, and interact with our customers and parents. Our goal is to provide interns an overview of our organization’s daily operations and growth to possible employment.

Position: Youth Education

Job Description: 

Primary focus/project will be to develop operational systems for various youth programs, design reporting tracking youth success, support various youth events and leadership meetings, assist in curriculum and program development, and streamline communications among the organization and the community leaders or participants. Skills acquired from this position would involve comprehension of the role of a Youth Program Director.

Position: STEM Education

Job Description: 

Primary focus/project is to develop engaging STEM activities for the youth and community ensuring all core disciplines are implemented (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math). Interns will explore various forms of STEM with a high emphasis on technology and incorporate practicum experiences for all ages serviced within the branch locations. Some data collection is required for specialized projects. Skills acquired for this position would involve comprehension of the role of a Program Coordinator for Imagine Science. Imagine Science is a collaboration of the YMCA, Boys & Girls Club of Dallas, Girls Inc., & National 4-H.

Position: Wellness/Fitness

Job Description: 

Primary focus/project will develop activities that increase awareness of practicing good health and nutrition. Interns will engage community members and youth with innovative programs to promote a healthy mind and body. Projects could include nutrition, fitness, personal training, diabetes prevention, Get up and Go, & aerobics. Interns may be required to operate health measuring tools, fitness equipment, or direct class instruction. Skills acquired for this position would involve comprehension of the role of a Wellness Coordinator.
